E-cigarettes: Regulations For Consumer Products As Stated By Gov.UK

There is no doubt in the fact that vaping is less hazardous to health. It also has some health benefits compared to regular smoking. But still, there must be an organization that should regulate the usage and consumption of vape devices. Luckily E-cigarettes regulation and consumption authority in the UK has set some rules and regulations for usage, selling and buying vape products all across the country. If you haven’t known those rules and regulations yet. Then you are in the right place. Let’s have a look at the regulations for consumer products as stated by the Government of the UK.

E-cigarettes: Regulations For Consumer Products

The Tobacco Products Directive commonly known as (TPD) presented new standards for nicotine-containing electronic cigarettes and top off holders that are mentioned in article 20 (from May 2016.  MHRA is the skilled expert for the warning plan for e-cigarettes and top off holders in the UK and is answerable for actualizing most of the arrangements according to article 20. so the following are the sets of rules and regulations set by MHRA.

Every Vape consumer and manufacturer is bound to obey all the rules. otherwise, he/she shall be punished according to the law.

Let’s Read Them Very Carefully

  • Ensure minimum standards for the safety of all produced e-cigarette devices and tools.
  • Also, provide the safety information (of all the vape devices) to the consumer at the time of selling it.
  • Consumers are forced to maintain(create) the environment that is safe for children. (an environment that does not force kids to start smoking)
  • Manufacturers are bound to restrict the capacity of e-cigarette containers as minimum as 20 ml only.
  • All e-cigarettes manufacturers are supposed to notify MHRA before selling the products to the consumers.
  • All the manufacturers across the country are bound to add banners or warnings on all vape tools and devices.
  • Avoid the use of harmful products like coloring or caffeine.
  • All the vape tools and devices should have child-resistant packaging. ( make sure to keep it out of the reach of kids and infants).
  • All the e-liquids should have a nicotine strength of not more than 20 ml.
  • The maximum capacity of the e-liquid container should be no more than 10 ml.
  • The cross border sale ( online vape products) of e-cigarettes and e-liquids required you to get registered to government officials first.

Also, E-cigarette manufacturers and producers must advise MHRA on the off chance that they have the motivation to accept that a notifiable item is dangerous to health not of good quality or not consistent with TPD guidelines.

Every citizen either consumer or manufacturer is bound to tell MHRA if any vape tool or product is not safe to use. You can tell it by emailing it to TPDsafety@mhra.gov.uk.

It is not only the duty of the government to regulate the usage of e-cigarettes. But this duty also relies on the consumer’s shoulders as well

The above set of regulations is only for the safety of consumers especially children and kids in their teens.

Wrapping Up

So above is the brief guide of some rules and regulations that must be followed if you are living in England. Also, I really appreciate the efforts of the UK government for enforcing the set of laws to control the consumption and manufacturing of vape tools and products that are not environmental or human-friendly. It is now the responsibility of every citizen to buy products from the vendor that is following all these regulations and the best place is none other than Nextdayvapes.
